WATERBURY — Patricia V. Topazio, 83, died peacefully on May 2, 2020, after a short illness at the Cheshire House in Waterbury.
Patricia was born Jan. 24, 1937, in Waterbury, daughter of the late Nicholas and Stella (Lagownik) Topazio. She was employed for many years as an executive secretary at Chase Brass and Copper, Scovill Manufacturing, American Brass and Uniroyal. She also served in the Foreign Service, and was stationed in Japan. Upon her return, she was recruited by Waterbury Mayor George Harlamon to work as his administrative assistant; with her last career position being the administrative assistant to the president of Robinson Insurance Company. Patricia enjoyed singing and was actively involved in various glee clubs and chorus groups.
She leaves two brothers, Donald and his wife, Carol Topazio, and Lawrence and his wife, Maureen Topazio; nephew, Chris and his wife, Danielle Topazio; and niece, Candi and her husband, Gregg Sylvester; great-nieces and great-nephews, Paige, Cody, Nicholas, Michael, Marc Jr. and his wife, Melissa, and their son, Grey Topazio, Michelle and Justin Banisaied; and her friends including, Kay and John Jo, Josephine and Jo. Patricia was predeceased by her sister, Sr. Barbara Topazio CND; her nephew, Marc Sr.; and her sister-in-law, Judith Topazio.
The family would like to thank the staff of The Cheshire House, especially Pat’s great-niece Paige, for all the wonderful care that Pat received while in their care.
Services are private and there are no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck.
