SAUNDERSTOWN, R.I. — Patricia “Patti” A. (Marciano) Girardi, 53, of Saunderstown, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 23, 2020. She was the most beloved wife of Michael A. Girardi. Patti was born in Waterbury, Conn., to her loving parents, Anthony C. Marciano Sr. and Barbara (Turonis) Marciano.
Patti was the valedictorian of Notre Dame High School in Fairfield, Conn. She continued her academic pursuits, earning a bachelor’s degree and again garnering the rank of class valedictorian from Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., before receiving her MBA from Harvard University.
An accomplished corporate marketing executive, Patti was employed by Valet Living in Tampa, Fla., as chief marketing officer. Prior to her current position, she worked for Chartwells Compass Group North America as vice president of marketing, and served as a professor of brand equity management, integrated marketing at West Virginia School of Journalism. Patti also spent many years with Cox Communications in Atlanta, Ga., and Fox Cable Networks in Los Angeles, Calif., as regional vice president of sales and marketing. She served as president of the Cable and Telecommunications Association for Marketing, Southern California Chapter, and was a member of the University of South Florida Muma College of Business, board of directors. Patti led, mentored, and motivated many professional teams, students and colleagues throughout her career. Prior to marketing, Patti performed research and script analysis for the creator of the TV series, Miami Vice in Los Angeles, Calif.
Her beauty was transcendent inside and out. Patti was crowned Connecticut Miss Teen, National Miss Teen, and was second runner up for Miss Connecticut. She also served proudly as a member of the USO. Patti loved cooking, baking and traveling internationally, especially visiting Europe, the Holy Land, Central America and South America. She was also an accomplished classical pianist. Patti and Michael shared the joy of gardening, wherein Patti created stunning bouquets to share with dear relatives and friends.
Besides her husband, and parents, Patti is survived by her loving brothers, Dr. Anthony C. Marciano Jr. of Southbury, Conn., and John A. Marciano (wife, Alisha) of Forest, Va.; and her caring nieces and nephews, Emily Marciano, Thomas Marciano and Isabella Marciano.
Her funeral liturgy will be privately held in St. Thomas More Church of Narragansett. A live streaming of her funeral liturgy will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2020, at 11 a.m. and can be found at livestream.com/stm.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at a date to be announced.
