Pasquale ‘Patsy’ DeGennaro

NAUGATUCK — Mr. Pasquale “Patsy” DeGennaro, 84, of 151 Andrew Ave., passed away on Friday, Oct. 7, peacefully. He was the husband of Rose (Baldelli) DeGennaro for 60 years.

He was born in Derby, on April 17, 1927 son of the late Anthony and Antoinette (Fiorello) DeGennaro. He was a resident of Naugatuck since 1985, and he retired from Hull Dye and Print Company in Derby after many years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His hobbies included playing bocee, fishing, hiking, gardening, watching sports and drum corp competitions. Patsy was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and he was a communicant of St. Vincent Ferrer Church. He also served his country in the U. S.Navy during World War II.

Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Paul J. DeGennaro and his wife Sandy of Naugatuck; two daughters, Laura White and her husband Tom of Norwalk and Joyce Rich and her husband Mike of Wakefield, R.I.; three sisters Mary Conti of Hamden, Rose Baldelli of Derby and Ruth Della Camera of North Haven; six grandchildren, Stephen, Lauren and Peter DeGennaro, Jeff and Michael White and Olivia Rich, and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral was held on Monday, Oct. 10, at 9:15 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck to St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Road, Naugatuck for a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Burial, with military honors, followed at Mount St. Peters Cemetery, Route 34 in Derby.
