PROSPECT — Olga L. (Gomez) Preta, 47, of Prospect, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Olga was born in Bogota, Colombia on Aug. 28, 1965 a daughter of Francisco and Rosalba (Hernandez) Gomez of Prospect. She attended Prospect schools and also college. She was a truly loving daughter, sister and aunt and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her two nephews and will always be remembered for her smile. She also loved animals.
Besides her parents, Olga is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Pinho and her husband Antonio of Prospect and Janet Duffield and her husband John of Santa Monica, Calif.; two nephews, Christian and Andrew Pinho; her former husband, Carlos Preta, several aunts and uncles in Colombia and many cousins in Canada, Florida, France, Colombia and Israel, and her dear friend, Keith Nelthrop.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin St., Waterbury. Family and friends are asked to please meet directly at the church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Road, Route 69, Prospect.
