Nicole Rosalie Queiros

NAUGATUCK — Nicole Rosalie Queiros, 23, passed away on May 1, 2020.

Nicole was born in Waterbury to Lisa Marie Lowman and Jose L. Queiros and was raised in Naugatuck. She attended Naugatuck High School and Holy Cross High School. She graduated from Ed. Advance in 2018, which was one of her proudest achievements. She found her passion for cooking when she started working at Post University. In the summer she worked with her father for his landscaping business, where she found more passion as she would say, “I’m turning it into a work of art.” Her love of basketball was endless. She played all throughout her school years and always could be found with a basketball in hand. She was obsessed with her hats and hoodies and it became her matching game. Hat had to match the hoodie, hoodie had to match the sneakers; she had it no other way.

Nicole’s greatest loves in life were her family and friends. The relationship with her mother was like no other. Her father was her buddy and she was his twin! Her sister was her pride and best friend, and her brother-in-law was her motivation. Her fiancé, Kate Brunson, was her joy and the love of her life, and her Stephen was someone she could always rely on. Nicole’s childhood lifelong besties, Marissa and Nicole Kezelevich and Aliyah Tripp, she loved and watched over like a big sister.

Her smile and laugh were contagious, and her heart was pure sunshine. She had the biggest heart and whoever she loved, she loved loud. She always made sure everyone was OK and her memories will tell a story for a lifetime.

She is predeceased by her grandfather, John M. Lowman; her cousin, John Marcus Lowman; and her grandparents, Joao and Anna Queiros of Portugal.

She is survived by her father, Jose L. Queiros; her mother, Lisa M. Lowman; her sister and brother-in-law, Lyssa Peburn Bertrand and Anthony Bertrand; her grandmother, Johanna Lowman; her godparents, Carlos and Alice Santos; her aunts and uncles, Eliza Martines, Joaquim Martines, Julio and Laura Queiros, Fran and Frank Queiros Fazzino, Manuil and Adelida Queiros of Portugal, Maria and Fernando Santos of Portugal, John and Maureen Lowman of Derby, and Robin Lowman of Stamford; her cousins, Marina, Bruno, Elisabete of Portugal, Guilherme and Carlos Manuel Queiros Santos of Portugal, Steve, Charlie and Michael Santos, David and Jessica Martins, Rachael and Anthony Queiros, Kara Lee Lowman of North Carolina, Christina, Derek, Nadine, Devon (Lowman) Vernazza, all of Stamford, and Siobhian and Jimmy Lowman of Derby.

Services will be private, and there are no calling hours. A memorial Mass will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to assist culinary students with tuition, in memory of Nicole, can be sent to Anthony Bertrand, 13 Sycamore Lane, Waterbury, CT 06705.
