NAUGATUCK — Mrs. Modest (Czaplicki) Ploski, 89, of Prospect Street, Naugatuck, passed away at Paradigm Health Center of Prospect. She was the widow of Walter W. Ploski.
Mrs. Ploski was born in Terryville on Dec. 7, 1921, a daughter of the late Frank and Stella (Ploski) Czaplicki. She was a lifelong resident of Naugatuck and a communicant of St. Hedwig Church. She was a retiree of the Footwear Division of Uniroyal, Inc. and had also worked at G. Fox. She enjoyed gardening and golfing when she was younger.
She leaves her son, Eugene Ploski and his wife Katherine of Torrington; her daughter, Patricia Lombardi and her husband Thomas of Naugatuck with whom she made her home; her sisters, Jane Listwon of Ansonia and Isabel Petersen of Beacon Falls; her granddaughter, Nicole Norton; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Aug. 10 at 11 a.m. at St. Hedwig Church, 32 Golden Hill St., Naugatuck. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. There are no calling hours. The Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck has been entrusted with her arrangements.
