Obituary: Michael J. Cervero

NAUGATUCK – Mr. Michael J. Cervero, 62, of Davin Drive, Naugatuck, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 27, at West Haven Veterans Hospital. He was the husband of Cecile (Beaudry) Cervero.

Mr. Cervero was born in Bridgeport on Dec. 15, 1948, a son of the late John and Mary (DeRosa) Cervero. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Fairfield and honorably served our country during the Vietnam Era in the U. S. Navy. He was employed at Trans-Lite in Milford, where he worked for over 30 years and was a Naugatuck resident since 1985.

Besides his wife of 33 years, he leaves three daughters, Kimberly Cervero of Waterbury, Shannon Torrello and Michelle Cervero both of Naugatuck; two brothers, John Cervero of Shelton, Paul Cervero of Torrington; four grandchildren, Stefanie and Anthony Cervero, Caramia and Richard Torrello; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, David Cervero.

His funeral will be held on Thursday, Sept. 1, at 9:15 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St., Naugatuck for a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 7pm. The Naugatuck Veteran Council will assemble at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
