NEW BRITAIN — Melony A. (Hutchinson) Maida, 47, of New Britain, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012 at her home.
Melony was born in Portsmouth, Va. on Sept. 5, 1964, a daughter of Severin Hutchinson of East Haddam and Priscilla LeBretton of Naugatuck. She was a longtime resident of both Naugatuck and Waterbury before moving to New Britain two years ago. She was a graduate of Crosby High School in Waterbury. Melony enjoyed taking photos and scrapbooking them for everyone to see. Her passion for capturing all the special moments in life was unmatched by any. She was also an animal lover and had a cat that she adored.
Besides her parents she leaves her son, Christopher Vagnini of Naugatuck; a brother, Michael Hutchinson of Thomaston; three sisters, Tracie Ferrucci of Litchfield, Kristen Izizarry of Virginia, and Erica Young of Massachusetts; she also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 23 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck. A service will be held at 7 p.m.
