Mary (Simkulet) Komanecky

BEACON FALLS — Mrs. Mary (Simkulet) Komanecky, 102, of Beacon Falls, passed away unexpectedly at her home early Sunday morning June 12. She was the widow of John Komanecky.

 

Mrs. Komanecky was born in Binghamton, N.Y., Aug. 27, 1908, a daughter of the late Alex and Helen (Busa) Simkulet, one of eight children and was a resident of Auburn, N.Y. for most of her life. She moved to Beacon Falls in 1981. She was a communicant of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church of Auburn, N.Y. She retired in 1974 from the Auburn Plastic Co.

She leaves two daughters, Vera Woodward of Beacon Falls, with whom she made her home, and Elizabeth Holman of Glen Burnie, Md.; one sister, Helen Milliman of Auburn, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Joseph C. Glenn III, Nancy C. Glenn, Carol O’Brocki, and Barbara Holman; two great-grandchildren, Christopher O’Brocki, and Leah E. Gray.

She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Gail Gray.

Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 21, with a liturgy at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 81 Cottage St., Auburn, N.Y. at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery in Aurelius, N.Y. There are no calling hours.

The Plis Funeral Home, 220 State St. Auburn, N.Y is in charge of arrangements in New York. The Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. is assisting with local arrangements.
