PROSPECT – Miss Mary C. McMahon, 84, of West Hartford, passed away on Saturday, December 4 at Paradigm Health Care of Prospect.
Miss McMahon was born in Waterbury on June 24, 1926, daughter of the late John and Mary (Phelan) McMahon. She was a longtime West Hartford resident. She worked for many years as a librarian in the Hartford Library System as well as the New York City Library System. She was an avid outdoors person and reader. She was a member of the NAVA Ski Club and the AYH Bicycle Club.
She leaves a brother, Rev. John McMahon, OP of Washington, DC; a sister Phyllis Sullivan of Waterbury; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and a great-nephew.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 8 at 10am from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck to St. Mary Church, 338 North Main Street, Naugatuck for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet
Cemetery, Watertown. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 9-10am.
