NAUGATUCK — Mrs. Marie C. (Coffaro) Pilkewich, of Naugatuck, died Thursday Nov. 17, at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was the wife for 44 years of Charles J. Pilkewich.
Mrs. Pilkewich was born in Niagara Falls, N.Y., on Aug. 3, 1928 and raised in Rochester, N.Y., a daughter of the late George and Caroline Coffaro. She was retired from Bank of Boston in Naugatuck where she had worked for many years and was a member of the McDonald Boat and Outing Club in Middlebury. She enjoyed sports and was an avid UCONN Womens Basketball fan.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Pilkewich is survived by a brother-in-law, Sam Teaford of Los Alamitos, Calif., two sisters-in-law, Sophie Rogers of Middlebury and Trudy Bienkowski of Florida and seven nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Anthony Coffaro, a sister, Georgianna Teaford and two sisters-in-law, Celia Pilkewich and Helen Donaghu.
Private funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck is in charge of arrangements.
