BEACON FALLS — Maria Sabina Zaldumbide, 58, died unexpectedly on April 16, 2020.
Maria was born on Jan. 30, 1962, in Chimbo, Ecuador, a daughter of the late Eugenio Gaibor and Luz Garcia, and she came to Beacon Falls in 1986 to fulfill her dream of opening a business and raising her beautiful family. Maria was a gifted seamstress who owned and operated Maria’s Tailoring & Alterations in Beacon Falls for the past 21 years. She enjoyed spending all of her free time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her sense of humor, fun-loving spirit and generosity. Maria had touched the lives of many with her kind heart and loving soul. She would have told anyone that her greatest joy was not only being a mother, but a grandmother to her beautiful granddaughters.
Maria is survived by her husband of 34 years, Edward Zaldumbide; her three children, Tracey Balanca, Sharon Zaldumbide and Edward Zaldumbide; her son-in-law, Christopher Balanca; her two loving grandchildren, Penelope and Anna Balanca; and three sisters and two brothers.
Maria was immensely proud of her family, and she leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. May her soul rest in peace.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at a later date. There are no calling hours, and arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck.
