Obit-CandleBROOKLYN, Mich. — Mrs. Margaret K. (King) Christie, 76, of Brooklyn, Mich., formerly of Naugatuck, died Monday, March 18, 2013. She was the widow of Edwin M. Christie.

Mrs. Christie was born in Naugatuck on June 15, 1936 a daughter of the late Catherine (Carter) King. She was retired from the Bristol Babcock Company where she had worked as a machine operator for many years, was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Naugatuck and a member of the Daughters of Isabella.

Mrs. Christie is survived by two daughters, Cathy Granoth and her husband Robert of West Haven and Wendy Maynard and her husband Stephen of Jackson, Mich.; four grandchildren, Troy, Sarah and Catherine Maynard and Robert Granoth, Jr. and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, John E. Christie and a sister, Florence K. Burge.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St., Naugatuck. Family and friends are asked to please meet directly at the church. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck.
