Obituary: Lillian (Bernier) Walters

Pleasureville, KY-Lillian (Bernier) Walters, 90, formerly of Prospect passed away on Monday, Jan. 24, surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of J. Clayton Walters, Sr.

Mrs. Walters was born on Jan. 3, 1921 in Prospect a daughter of the late Ernest J.Bernier, Sr and Lillian Mae (Frank) Bernier. Lillian was a member of St. Anthony’s Church. Lillian and Clayton where the first couple married in a special mass July 3, 1939. She was a member of the Prospect Historical Society and Prospect Grange. She was a Cub Scout Den mother, 4-H leader and a gifted artist.

She is survived by her two sons, James Walters and his wife Regina and George Walters and his wife Linda, one sister, Beverly Woods and her husband Francis, and one sister in law, Helen Bernier.

The funeral was held on Monday, Jan. 31, at 10:30 a.m. from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Road, Rte. 69, Prospect to St. Anthony’s Church for a mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial was in Prospect Cemetery.
