SOUTHBURY — Mrs. Lillian (Bennett) Brown, 93, of Southbury, passed away early Friday morning, Aug. 12, at the River Glen Rehabilitation Center in Southbury. She was the widow of the late Eric Edwards Brown.

Mrs. Brown was born in Watertown, May 14, 1918, a daughter of the late John Cornelius Bennett and the late Grace Fish Bennett and was a graduate of Watertown High School and Perry’s School of Business in Waterbury. She was a member of the Congregational Church of Naugatuck for over 45 years. She was a retired employee of Timex in Middlebury, retiring in 1982 with over 25 years of service. She had been a resident of Florida and had been treasurer of the Citrus Springs Library and had been a member of the Golf and Country Club of Citrus Springs, Fla.

She leaves one son, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Douglas Bennett Brown of Surprise, Ariz. and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three sisters, Mrs. Franklin (Emma) Smith formerly of Naugatuck, her twin, Mrs. Louis (Laura) Bannett formerly of Southbury, and Mrs. Robert (Ethel) Utenner formerly of Prospect.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family, with burial in Cornwall Cemetery in Cornwall. There are no calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. is assisting the family with the arrangements.
