THOMASTON — Kellie Winters Moffat, 47, died peacefully in her home in Thomaston on Sept. 23, 2020.

Kellie was born on July 29, 1973, to John and Judi Moffat. Kellie grew up in Naugatuck and attended Nonnewaug High, where she was involved with the FFA program. She also attended several Connecticut colleges as well as university in England. She worked many jobs including several dairy farms, banking, bartending, and counseling at risk youth. Kellie had a smile that lit up a room and drew everyone in with her audacious personality. Her passions included sharks and the conservation of sharks, camping, traveling and reading. She was an extremely talented performer and beautifully captured her creativity in various craft projects. She had an abundance of amazing and caring friends that have stuck by her side through all of the ups and downs of life, whom she enjoyed so many joy filled experiences and adventures with.

Kellie is survived by her sister, Bonnie Moffat; her sister-in-law, Sharon Moffat; her niece, Amber Ajro; nephews, Adem Ajro and John Moffat III and his wife, Jenn. She also has many aunts, uncles and cousins — several of which she was especially close to. Kellie was predeceased by her parents, John Malcom Moffat Sr. and Judi Mae Moffat; as well as her big brother, John Malcom Moffat II.

She was such an incredibly unique and special person and will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.

Funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family, and there are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck is assisting with arrangements.
