NAUGATUCK — Joseph A. DeNomme, 86, passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the VITAS Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by his family. He was husband of Jeanette (Tougas) DeNomme.
He was born in Lowell, Mass., on March 31, 1926, son of the late Joseph A. and Beatrice DeNomme. He was a longtime Naugatuck resident and he retired from MP & P. Plating in Waterbury after many years of service. Joseph enjoyed boating, fishing, NASCAR racing and boxing.
Mr. DeNomme proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force during World War II.
Besides his wife Jeanette of 62 years, he leaves two sons, David DeNomme of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Robert DeNomme and his wife Carol of Prospect; a daughter Gale McIntyre and her husband Allen of Naugatuck; a brother George DeNomme of Texas; a sister Marie Kenny of NY; two grandsons Brian and David DeNomme; two granddaughters Ashley McIntyre and Jessica Falero, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother Bill DeNomme.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 9:15 a.m. from the Naugatuck
Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck, to St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Road, Naugatuck for a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Members of the Naugatuck Veteran’s Council will meet at the funeral home on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
