Obituary: John P. Hackett

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. — Mr. John P. Hackett, 51, of 42 Midway Motor Village, Clifton Park, N.Y., formerly of Naugatuck, died unexpectedly on June 18, at his home.

John was born in Washington, D.C. on Dec. 14, 1959. He was the much-loved son of Angela Taylor of Naugatuck and the late John Bernard Hackett. John was the proud father of Michaela Hackett of Bedford, Va. He was a graduate of Naugatuck High School. John was especially proud of his spirituality, his love of music, and his ability to restore and ride antique motorcycles. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran.

There are many people who will miss the humor, wit, and endless stories that were a part of John’s big heart and rich persona.

John is survived by two sisters, Kimberly Gallo and her husband Tom of Naugatuck and Jennifer Olson and her husband Gary of Naples, Fla.; a brother, Duane Taylor and his wife Kathy of Naples, Fla.; many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, several nieces and nephews, a grand-niece and his beloved cat Sugar.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 22, at 11:30 a.m. the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery in Naugatuck. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
