SEYMOUR — John Kosciuszek, 82, beloved husband of Klaudia Janucik Kosciuszek of Seymour, died Dec. 29, 2012 at the Shady Knoll Health Care Center, surrounded by his family.

Born in Poland on Feb. 28, 1930, he was the son of the late Naum and Anna Olesik Kosciuszek. Mr. Kosciuszek and his wife of 52 years have resided in Seymour since 1960. He worked for the Kerite Co. of Seymour for over 40 years, until his retirement in 1995. Mr. Kosciuszek was an avid coupon clipper and loved to save money on groceries and household items. He enjoyed a good poker game with his regular buddies.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted sons, Peter J. Kosciuszek and his wife, Maria of Naugatuck and John G. Kosciuszek of Seymour; cherished grandchildren, Nina and Alex Kosciuszek of Naugatuck; a brother, Paul Kosciuszek of Seymour; sisters, Maria Chvirko of Hamden and Tanya Lechnowsky of New York.

He was predeceased by a brother, Nickolay Kosciuszek.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at 9 a.m. from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. in Three Saints Orthodox Church, 26 Howard Ave., Ansonia at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Three Saints Cemetery, Seymour. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013 from 5 to 7 p.m.
