John Anthony Perugini

Prospect-John Anthony Perugini, 82, of 160 Union City Rd, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, February 6, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Camille (Boccuzzi) Perugini.

Mr. Perugini was born on March 11, 1928 in Waterbury, a son of the late Nicholas and Emanuella Perugini and step-son to the late Margaret Perugini. He was retired from Region 16 School District where he worked as head custodian for many years. He also worked at Bristol Babcock in Waterbury for 25 years. He was a USMCR III Veteran of the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a loving father and husband, and faithful Marine.

John is survived by his loving daughter, Carla Perugini-Erickson and his favorite son-in-law, Larry Erickson, of Prospect, three brothers, his twin Samuel Perugini of Prospect, Nicholas Perugini of Waterbury and Donald Perugini of Martin, TN, four grandchildren, Jesse, Michael, Carly and Samantha Erickson. He leaves his sisters/brothers-in-laws and several nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his dog Poppy.

He was predeceased by his loving daughter Camille “Candy” Perugini.

We are especially grateful to his sister-in-law Gloria Eureka.

A mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect. Burial with full military honor was held in New Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterbury.
