WATERTOWN — Joanna “Jennie” Czochor Sandin, 92, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013 at Middlebury Convalescent Home surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Walter Czochor and Carl Sandin.
Jennie was born on April 2, 1921 in Waterbury a daughter of the late Frank Tutolo and Angelina (Petrucelli) Tutolo. She was retired from St. Mary’s Hospital where she worked as an R.N. for many years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Altar Society and a Eucharistic Minister. Jennie was also a member of the Nurses’ Alumni Association. She enjoyed reading, golfing and knitting.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ellen Henerberry of Watertown; one son, Ronald J. Czochor and his wife Lesley of Garnet Valley, Pa.; one step-son, Jon Sandin and his wife Gloria of Thomaston; three brothers, Frank Tutolo of Naugatuck, Leonard Tutolo of Wolcott and Robert Tutolo of Prospect. She will also be missed by her two granddaughters, Jennifer and Rebecca.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, Sept.12, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 338 N. Main St., Naugatuck. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. Friends may call at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m.
