NAUGATUCK — Joan Wasilesky, 86, of Naugatuck, passed away peacefully on Jan. 2, 2021, at home surrounded by family and friends.

Joan was born in Manhattan, N.Y., on May 15, 1934, daughter of the late Alexander and Rebecca (Fogel) Ziswasser. Joan attended A.B. Davis H.S. in Mount Vernon, N.Y. She also received a degree from the Berkeley School in White Plains, N.Y. Joan enjoyed spending time with her family, attending plays and musicals, big band music, watching figure skating, and her dogs. She had a great sense of humor and could always make another laugh.

Joan leaves three children: sons, Robert Wasilesky and his wife, Gina, of South Lyon, Mich., and Glenn Wasilesky of Naugatuck, along with beloved daughter, Sherrie (Wasilesky) Morran and her husband, David, of Naugatuck. She also leaves six grandchildren, Hope, Joe, Jessica, Katelyn, Sarah and Billy; as well as, four great-grandchildren, Serena, Holly, Emmitt and Estelle. In addition, she leaves many nieces and nephews. Joan was predeceased by loving husband, Carlo Cecchinelli; and ex-husband, Anthony Wasilesky. Joan was also predeceased by siblings, Estelle (Ziswasser) Ellner and Seymour Ziswasser.

Joan’s family would like to send sincere thanks to Claudette Briere, her aide and close friend for many years, as well as the providers of C.C.C.I. and Masonicare Hospice.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
