Obit-CandleCOCOA, Fla. — Jane (Taloczka) Cederwall, 98, of Cocoa, Fla., formerly of Naugatuck, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013 at her home. She was the widow of Sven Cederwall.

Jane was born in Union City on May 26, 1915, daughter of the late Alphons and Bronislawa (Balunda) Taloczka. She attended St. Hedwig’s School and Naugatuck High School. She was employed by the Peter Paul Company where she met her future husband, Sven Cederwall. They were longtime employees of the company, working at the plant in Naugatuck, and subsequently in Oakland and Salinas, Calif., retiring from the company in the late ‘70s. During their retirement, they lived in Titusville, Fla., and travelled extensively, principally to Sweden where her husband had an extended family.

She leaves a sister, Mary Darius of Meriden; a brother, Lt. Col. Edward Pilecki (USAF, Ret.) of Annandale, Va.; nieces, sister, Paul Marie Longo of the Bernadine Order, Susan Crean of Winter Park, Fla., and Carol Dennis of Brooklyn, N.Y.; nephews, Paul Longo Jr. of Middletown, Eugene Balinski of Marlborough, Mass., Michael Pilecki of Temple Hills, Md., and Bert Cederwall of Denver, Colo.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, September 28 at 10:30 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck to St. Hedwig Church, 32 Golden Hill St., Naugatuck for a mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held on Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
