BEACON FALLS — James Paul “Jimmy” Ardry, 79, passed away peacefully on Dec. 24, 2020, at Cheshire House after a brief illness.

James was born on Sept. 5, 1941, in Waterbury, a son of the late Frederick Jacob and Elva (Rowe) Ardry, and had lived in Naugatuck most of his life. James retired from Peter Paul Hershey, where he worked for 41 years in the shipping department. James was a proud U.S. Army veteran; he was a member of the B.P.O. Elks, Lodge 967 in Naugatuck for 48 years and was a former Elk of the Year.

James is survived by his daughters, Vanessa Elva Ferguson and her husband, Nicholas Ferguson, and Emma Janet Ardry; his two grandchildren, Charlotte and Nicholas Ferguson; his brother, Ronald Ardry; and many loved nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, James was predeceased by his brothers, Frederick Ardry and Kenneth Ardry; and his sisters, Betty Guild, Donna Salerno, Barbara Camera, Dorothy Szczoczarz and Shirley Buckles.

James’s family would like to sincerely thank the dedicated staff at Cheshire House for the wonderful care that they provided.

There are no services planned at this time due to the pandemic. A celebration of James’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck.
