ANSONIA — Jacqueline M. Wigglesworth, 78, beloved wife of Martin A. Wigglesworth of Ansonia, died July 22, 2019, at Griffin Hospital surrounded by her family. Born in Derby on May 14, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Tekla Nesteriak Wannagot.

Mrs. Wigglesworth was raised in Shelton and graduated from Shelton High School in 1958. She worked as a wire harness technician in the avionics department of the Sikorsky Co. for 28 years, until the time of her retirement in 2013. An avid bowler and member of the Sikorsky bowling team; she’d often compete in area leagues and tournaments. It was her personal ambition to visit every Caribbean Island and she was successful in visiting many with her family, creating memories of a lifetime. A notorious shopper of all things, her most favorite haunts were grocery stores and jewelry stores, especially Columbia Emeralds in the Caribbean, consuming endless hours at a time. Her vivacious sense of humor and contagious laugh would bring joy and happiness to all that were fortunate to be in her company. Mrs. Wigglesworth’s greatest passion was her family. As the family matriarch, she’d prepare meals, host holiday dinners, and made every family gathering a celebration.

In addition to her husband of nearly 46 years, she is survived by her devoted children, Darlene Farley of Naugatuck, Frank Babjak of Naugatuck, Brian Babjak of Ansonia and James Babjak of Ansonia; cherished grandchildren, Joshua Stout of Waterbury, Krystal Farley of Massachusetts, Marissa Farley of Naugatuck, Tyeler Babjak of Naugatuck, Kyle Babjak of Massachusetts and Kasey Babjak of Derby; great-grandchildren, Jaxson and Jordan Dwight of Massachusetts, as well as several nieces, nephews and her two feline companions, Simba and Dakota. Mrs. Wigglesworth was predeceased by a son-in-law, Scott Farley; a sister, Shirley Granatie, and brothers, Daniel and Robert Wannagot.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. Interment will be private. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 6:30 p.m., prior to the service.
