NAUGATUCK — Mrs. Irene B. (Grochal) Andrzejak, 88, of Naugatuck, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013 at Glendale Health Center. She was the widow of Joseph Andrzejak.

Mrs. Andrzejak was born in Naugatuck on March 31, 1924, a daughter of the late Vincent and Bridget B. (Maluchnik) Grochal. She was a lifelong Naugatuck resident and attended Naugatuck High School. She was employed at the footwear division of Uniroyal, Inc. where she worked for several years and also worked as a housekeeper. She was a member of the Polish American Club in Union City and the Polish Heritage Group of Naugatuck. She was a communicant of St. Hedwig Church and a member of the Ladies Guild.

She leaves three sons, Frank Andrzejak and Louis Cavagnaro both of Naugatuck, Mark Cavagnaro of Florida; a sister, Gladys Conway of Waterbury; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, Jan. 24 at 9:30 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck to St. Hedwig Church for a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. Members of the St. Hedwig Church Ladies Guild will meet at 5:30 p.m. and members of the Polish American Ladies Auxiliary will meet at 6 p.m.
