WATERBURY — Mrs. Ida (Fasano) (Torsiello) Volza, 87, of Waterbury, passed away Tuesday, Sept.13, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Pasquale Torsiello and Domenic Volza.

Ida was born in Waterbury on July 17, 1924, daughter of the late Fred and Carmella (Iuliucci) Fasano. She was a homemaker who devoted her life to raising her four children and caring for her grandchildren. Her most cherished moments were spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a communicant of St. Lucy’s Church.

She leaves; three daughters, Josephine Clemente and her husband Frank of Waterbury, Frances Vanasse and her husband Michael of Naugatuck, Linda Nardella and her husband Mark of Watertown; a daughter-in-law, Maria Volza of Wolcott; a brother, Raymond Fasano and his wife Alma of Wolcott; a sister-in-law, Lena Fasano of Waterbury; three grandchildren, Ricky Clemente, Michael Vanasse, Amanda Nardella; two step grandchildren, Gina Vierra and Christopher Vierra and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son, Richard Volza and her two brothers, Italo Fasano and Michael Fasano.

The family would like to thank Dr. Kert Sabbath and his staff for the outstanding care and compassion shown to Ida during her illness.

The funeral will be held Friday, Sept. 16, at 9 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway to St. Lucy’s Church for a mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
