PROSPECT — Helen R. (O’Flaherty) Ventresca, 101, of Prospect, passed away on Tuesday, March 22 at Paradigm Health Center of Prospect.
Helen was born in Hartford on July 23, 1909, a daughter of the late Dennis and Jennie (LaViolet) O’Flaherty. She was a longtime Waterbury resident and homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church and a member of the Ladies Guild.
She leaves three sons, Joseph Ventresca of Rancho Santa Marguerita, Calif., William Ventresca of Oak Hills, Calif., Walter Ventresca of Naugatuck; a daughter, Sharen Avery of Prospect; 16 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, Robert Ventresca.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday, March 26 at 9:15 a.m, from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck to St. Francis Xavier Church, 625 Baldwin St., Waterbury for a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, East Main Street, Waterbury. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
