NAUGATUCK — Helen E. (Wandzell) Adamski, aka “Nana,” 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at her home. She was the widow of Joseph J. Adamski.

Helen was born in Gardner, Mass. on May 27, 1922, the youngest daughter of four children to Michael and Josephine (Kazslauskas) Wandzell.

She was an avid bowler for many years and played in several leagues and loved to go to the casino. She and her beloved husband, Joe traveled throughout the U.S. and traveled to Europe with their good friends George and Allene Allen.

She is survived by a daughter, Barbara and her husband, Neal Hennessey of Lady Lake, Fla., and a son, Joseph and his wife, Judy Adamski of Jenison, Mich.; her beloved grandsons, Steven and his wife, Rhonda Hennessey of Longmeadow, Mass., Scott and his wife, Catherine Hennessey and Ryan and his wife, Caroline Hennessey all of Naugatuck. She also leaves behind her cherished great-grandchildren, Kala, Arista, Killian, Julia, Austin and Taylor along with several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Edward and two sisters, Caroline and Mary.

Her funeral will be held on Monday, Jan. 7 at 9:30 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck, to St. Hedwig’s Roman Catholic Church, 32 Golden Hill St., Naugatuck, for a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m.
