OXFORD — Helen Alcine Potosky Wurn, 96, of Oxford died Monday, July 18, in Brunswick, Ga.
Mrs. Wurn was a lifetime resident of Oxford and was employed by Uniroyal Corporation in Naugatuck until her retirement in 1977. She was active in the Red Hats Society, the Oxford Garden Club, and the Oxford Senior Center. She enjoyed painting and won several awards for her poetry.
Mrs. Wurn was predeceased by her husband Arnold Charles Wurn.
She is survived by her son and his wife, Thomas and Kathleen Wurn of San Antonio, Texas; her daughter and her husband, Leslie and Bob Morrison of Saint Simons Island, Ga. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Jeffrey Wurn of San Antonio, Texas, Lisa Wurn Squire of Phoenix, Ariz., Thomas Morrison of Chattanooga, Tenn., Robert Morrison of Tettnang, Germany; and three great grandchildren, Elizabeth Ashley Latham, Phoenix, Ariz. and Lilly Helen and Leni Lorena Morrison, Tettnang, Germany.
A celebration of her life will be held in Nobleboro, Maine at a date to be announced
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Oxford Senior Center in her name.
