NAUGATUCK — Harry Zawyer, 94 of Naugatuck, beloved husband of the late Rose Brenia Zawyer, died Feb. 22, 2012 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Waterbury.

Born in Derby on July 17, 1917, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary Pawlak Zawyer. Mr. Zawyer was a longtime resident of Seymour before moving to Naugatuck 25 years ago. He was an employee of the Seymour Manufacturing Co. for over 30 years, until retiring in 1979. Mr. Zawyer was a faithful member of Three Saints Orthodox Church, an avid sports fan and enjoyed many trips to Florida to visit his family.

He is survived by his devoted son, Gregory (Josephine Ann) Zawyer; cherished grandchildren, Alisa (George) Romanenko, Sean (Holly) Zawyer and great-grandchildren, Annalisa, Alexander, Brayden and Lyla, all of Florida; a sister, Anna Baranowsky of Shelton; niece, Diane Baranowsky of Seymour; as well as several other special nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his first wife in 1980, Florence Sokoli Zawyer; and a brother John Zawyer.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, Feb., 27, 2012, at 9 a.m. from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. in Three Saints Orthodox Church, 26 Howard Ave., Ansonia. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. Family and friends may call on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Parastas at 4 p.m.
