Hanford (Hank) N. Cable Jr.

BEACON FALLS — Hanford (Hank) N. Cable Jr., 90, a Beacon Falls resident for the past 56 years, formerly residing in Seymour, entered into peaceful rest at his home on Oct. 31, 2020; he was the beloved husband of Carol (Kuzia) Cable.

Mr. Cable was born on Aug. 12, 1930, in Derby, son of the late Hanford N. Sr. and Hazel (Theurer) Cable. He attended Seymour schools and graduated from Seymour High School, Class of 1948. Hanford then went on to serve his country with the U.S. Navy, aboard the Taconic and the Pocono; he was a veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Cable retired from the Kerite Company, Seymour, where he was employed for 45 years as an electrician. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the New York Yankees, New York Giants, Navy football and UConn Huskies.

Hank’s everyday life mirrored 1 Corinthians 13:4-5, “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.” We were blessed to be a part of his life.

In addition to his wife of 64 years, Hanford leaves his loving family including his sons, John Cable of East Hartford and Gregory Cable and his wife, Suzette, of Indian Trail, N.C.; his daughters, Mary Mazza and her husband, Anthony, of Watertown, and Helen Peterson and her husband, James, of Beacon Falls; also 10 grandchildren, and three great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews. His brothers, Frederick, Robert, Richard and William; and sister, Barbara Lee, predeceased him.

There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held in the springtime at Trinity Cemetery, Seymour. His arrangements have been entrusted to the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St., Seymour.
