Obit-CandleNAUGATUCK — Mrs. Gloria V. (Fusco) Fruin, of Naugatuck, died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Richard H. Fruin.

Mrs. Fruin was born in Waterbury a daughter of the late Joseph and Raffella (Mendillo) (Fusco) Scarzella. Mrs. Fruin was retired from the Uniroyal Inc. Footwear Division and most recently worked at the Big Y Floral Department in Naugatuck. She enjoyed traveling and floral design and was and avid reader.

Mrs. Fruin is survived by three daughters, Deborah Diogostine and her husband Michael of Thomaston, Terri Fruin of Naugatuck, and Gail Connelly and her companion Bill Dessureau of Naugatuck; two sisters, Constance Coviello of Waterbury and Marie Veilette of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two stepbrothers, Joseph and Carl Scarzella; one stepsister, Antoinette Pace; four grandchildren, Brian Connelly and his companion Raven Mullis, Amy Bell and her husband William, Michael Diogostine and Joseph Diogostine; four great-grandchildren, Amanda, Anthony, Ryan and Kaitlin Bell and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Jane Bozzuto and Carol Wheeler; a stepsister, Mary Cruciani, and two brothers, Peter Fusco and Vincent Fusco.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. from Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect to St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect for a mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. A calling hour will be held on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
