PROSPECT — Mr. Giuseppe P. Bordieri, 79, of 61 Boulderbrook Court, passed away on Monday, Jan. 23, 2012 at the VITAS Unit of St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by his family. He was husband of Anna (Termine) Bordieri.

Mr. Bordieri was born in Italy on Jan. 25, 1932, son of the late Sebastiano and Rosaria (Sessa) Bordieri. He had lived most of his life in Wolcott and moved to Florida upon his retirement. He retired from Pratt and Whitney after 21 years of service. Giuseppe was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church. He enjoyed his family, opera music and was an avid soccer fan.

Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Sebastian Bordieri and his wife Irene of Bristol, Salvatore Bordieri and his wife Remia of Naples, Fla. and Joseph Bordieri and his wife Marci of Avon; three step-daughters, Antoinette Oldakowski of Prospect, Josephine Huben and her husband Kevin of Stratford, Maryann Grubaugh and her husband Harry of Thomaston; a brother, Brad Bordiere of Florida; a sister, Josephine Forte of Canada; 12 grandchildren, one great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held on Friday, Jan. 27, 2012 at 9 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck to St. Anthony’s Church, Union City Road, Prospect, for a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, East Main Street, Waterbury. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

In lieu of Flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph School, 430 Coram Ave., Shelton, CT.
