George L. Sirois

NAUGATUCK — George L. Sirois, 81, passed away on Friday, Feb. 26, 2021 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Marita (Carolan) Sirois.

Mr. Sirois was born Nov. 2, 1939, in Quincy, Mass., the son of the late Leonard and Marie (Levesque) Sirois. He was a longtime resident of Naugatuck, where he was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church. He proudly served his country as a captain in the U.S. Airforce.

George enjoyed wood working, golf and weekly family dinners. He was also very generous with his time for family and friends.

Besides his wife of 59 years, Mr. Sirois is survived by his daughter, Yvonne Marie Sirois; his sons, Kevin George Sirois and wife, Rosemary, Steven Joseph Sirois and wife, Cynthia, Mark Sirois and wife, Dawn; his grandchildren, Samantha, Joshua and Rebecca Sirois; and his sister, Jeanne Brown. Besides his parents, Mr. Sirois is predeceased by his brother, Roger.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Church Street, Naugatuck. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck is assisting with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in George’s name to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.

A great man has left a confused world Feb. 26, 2021, and be greatly missed. We appreciate the extraordinary care by the medical team.
