NAUGATUCK — Mr. George Cobbol, 92, of Naugatuck, passed away Saturday evening Feb. 11, 2012, at St. Mary’s Hospital-VITAS Hospice Unit. He was the husband of Dorothy (Koziar) Cobbol.

Mr. Cobbol was born in Naugatuck, March 8, 1919, a son of the late John and Mary (Mitrik) Cobbol and was a Naugatuck resident all of his life. He was educated in the local school system and was a, U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a retired employee of Uniroyal-Footwear Division, retiring in 1980 after 42 years of service. He was a Registered Beekeeper in the state of Connecticut, and an avid gardener.

Besides his wife of 63 years, he leaves his children; George Cobbol of Enfield, Janet Melnychuk of Bloomsburg, Pa., David Cobbol of Naugatuck and Timothy Cobbol of Brookfield; one brother John Cobbol of Naugatuck and one sister, Mary Kotuby of Florida; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a sister, Molly Cobbol.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012 at 12 noon at the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery, Cross St., Naugatuck. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
