BEACON FALLS — Frank R. Semplenski, 93, of Beacon Falls, the beloved husband of 65 years to the late Helen O’Donnell Semplenski, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at Beacon Brook Health Center of Naugatuck.

He was born in Waterbury on Jan. 21, 1928, son of the late Frank and Clara Wisniewski Semplenski. Frank was a 43-year employee of Uniroyal Chemical and was a communicant of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church of Beacon Falls. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War. Frank was a member and past Commander of the American Legion Post 25, a member and past Commander of the VFW Post 1946, a member of the Naugatuck Veterans Council, the Catholic War Vets #700, the Elks Lodge #967 of Naugatuck and the Beacon Falls Democratic Town Committee. His hobbies included gardening, racing Homer Pigeons, Blue Bird Banding and traveling. Frank was a fan of the New York Giants and New York Yankees, and loved the music of Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family and many friends. Frank will be sadly missed by all but will remain forever in our hearts.

His loving family includes his three grandchildren, Eric, Christie and Kimberlee Maffeo; his son-in-law, Craig Maffeo; his brother, David Semplenski and his wife, Donna; and his sister, Claire Nystrom. Frank was predeceased by his son, Gerald Semplenski; and his daughter, Sara Semplenski Maffeo.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Frank’s life will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021, at 10 a.m. directly at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, 25 Maple Ave., Beacon Falls., with the Rev. Joy Jacob, SDB, officiating. Interment in the family plot will follow with full military honors at St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck. Visitors will be asked to wear masks and adhere to social distancing requirements at all times.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Frank’s memory may be made to The Crazy Horse Memorial Foundation, to the VFW Post 1946 or the American Legion Post 25, all through the funeral home.
