Obituary: Francis D. Koerber

BEACON FALLS — Mr. Francis D. Koerber, 94, of Beacon Falls, died peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 16, at his home. He was the widower of Eleanor Viola (Heavens) Koerber.

Mr. Koerber was born in Beacon Falls on Feb. 13, 1917 a son of the late Frank and Charlotte (Schwenck) Koerber and was predeceased by his son, Robert F. Koerber, his sister, Ellen Toshack, and his two brothers, Frederick and Arthur Koerber.

Mr. Koerber was retired from Homer D. Bronson, Co. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion and a life member of the Beacon Hose Company #1.

Mr. Koerber is survived by three sons, David E. Koerber and wife Ann of Westfield, Mass., Paul F. Koerber of White River Junction, Vt., and James B. Koerber and wife Linda of Southbury; his grandchildren, Jonathan D. Koerber and wife Tina of Charleston, W.V., Jennifer A. Gilroy and husband Greg of New Fairfield, Alyssa Koerber and Matthew Koerber of Southbury; three great-grandchildren, Eric D. Koerber of Charleston, W.V., Zoey A. Gilroy, and Violet D. Gilroy of New Fairfield. He also leaves his devoted niece, Eileen Toshack Rossi of Beacon Falls, and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, Aug. 19, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck. Private funeral services and burial with full military honors will be held at the convenience of the family.
