Obituary: Florentine Debski Barraco

THOMASTON — Ms. Florentine Debski, 77, of Thomaston, formerly of Naugatuck and Derby, passed away at her home on Saturday, Dec. 10.

Ms. Debski was born in Long Island City, N.Y. on Nov. 1, 1934, a daughter of the late Maryan and Bertha (Bienkowski) Debski. She was raised in Derby and was a graduate of St. Michael’s School and Derby High School. She was a longtime Southbury resident where she raised her family. She later moved to Naugatuck and most recently to Thomaston to live with her daughter. She retired from Personal Mortgage Corp. in Brewster, N.Y. and was a communicant of St. Vincent Ferrer Church.

She leaves her two daughters, Tracy Ann Barraco of Thomaston, Lynn (Barraco) Satmary and her husband Joseph of Woodbury; her son, David L. Barraco and his wife Donna of South Carolina; her five grandchildren, David Brian Barraco, Nicholas Satmary, Alyssa Satmary, Casilyn Barraco, and Mikel Barraco; several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 9:15 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck to St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Road, Naugatuck for a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
