CHESHIRE — Eunice Judd Schaff died at age 95 peacefully in her home at Elim Park, Cheshire, on Aug. 31, 2013. She is formerly of Prospect.

She felt blessed to be married to the late Robert Schaff, Sr. for over 70 years. They had two wonderful sons, the late Robert Schaff, Jr. of Prospect and the late William Schaff of Dedham, Mass.

Eunice was the daughter of the late Willie Chester Judd and Iva Northrup of Naugatuck. She was a direct descendent of Thomas Judd, one of the founders of Waterbury. She was a member of Lady Fenwick Chapter, DAR. She retired from Peter Paul Cadbury in Naugatuck. For many years she enjoyed playing the piano in area nursing homes, and for the past 10 years, as a resident of Elim Park, to the delight of all who heard her play. She was an active member of Grace Baptist Church, Cheshire.

She leaves her daughter-in-law, Sandy Galvin Schaff of Prospect and Isa Boero Schaff of Dedham, Mass.; five grandchildren, Robert Schaff III, Middletown, Jana Freer, Thomaston, Andrea Reilly, Prospect, Kara Dean, Dedham, Mass. and William Judd Schaff, Warren, R.I., and seven great-grandchildren. A very special person in her life was her niece, Robbin Wilson of Prospect who has been there to help, comfort and come to be a good friend. Many special thanks to her aide Yaa.

Graveside services and burial will be held on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Old Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterbury. There are no calling hours. Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect is in charge of arrangements.
