NAUGATUCK — Eugene Witkoski, 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 24, at Glendale Health Center. He was husband of Nancy (Turse) Halloran Witkoski.
Mr. Witkoski was born in Naugatuck, on Feb. 8, 1932, son of the late Henry and Winifred (Krzykowski) Witkoski. He was a lifelong resident of Naugatuck and he retired from the Bristol Company after many years of service. He was a communicant of St. Hedwig Church and enjoyed fishing and playing golf.
He was a very generous person and always gave to the less fortunate and needy. Eugene proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sisters, Theodora “Teddy” Matan and Mary Ann Mitchell, both of Naugatuck; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Henry “Hank” Witkoski and two sisters, Winifred Howe and Claire Mihalko.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Monday, Nov. 28, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Hedwig Church, 32 Golden Hill St., Naugatuck. Burial, with military honors, were to follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. The Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck was entrusted with the arrangements.
