MANCHESTER — Mrs. Elizabeth (Keery) Knapp, 91, of Manchester, also of Glen Head, N.Y., Hancock, N.Y. and Winter Haven, Fla., died Sunday April 8, 2012 at her home. She was the loving wife for 69 years of James W. Knapp.

Mrs. Knapp was born in Patchogue, N.Y. on July 26, 1920 a daughter of the late Theodore H. Nichols and the late Ethel (Keery) Nichols. She was a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Hofstra University, a member of the Hope Presbyterian Church in Winter Haven, Fla. and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Knapp is survived by two daughters, Rev. Dr. Phyllis Norman and her husband Carl of Prospect, and Kathryn Reynolds and her husband Ken of Natick, Mass.; a son, David Knapp of Torrington; one sister, Mary Chinn and her husband Warren of Milford, Pa.; one brother, Ted Nichols and his wife Barbara of Florida; a brother-in-law, Phillip Knapp and his wife Viola of Sherman; six grandchildren, Christopher Wuestefeld and his wife Cathy of N.J., Kirsten Berube and her husband Paul of Watertown, William Reynolds and his wife Brenda of Harwinton, Robert Reynolds of Salem, Mass., Matthew Knapp of Torrington, and Gregory Knapp of Winsted, three step-grandchildren, Sarah Andrade and her husband Matthew of Rhode Island, Becky Eck and her husband Steve of South Carolina and Jennifer Hash of South Carolina; five great grandchildren, Justine, Mallory, Madeline, James and Natalie and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Friday April 13, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. in the auditorium at the Arbors, 403 West Center St., Manchester. Committal services and burial will be held in Hancock, N.Y. at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held on Thursday April 12, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Road, Route 69 Prospect.
