NAUGATUCK — Elaine A. (Levandowski) Andrzywski, 76, the widow of John A. (Miller) Andrzywski, died peacefully on May 2, 2021, in the VITAS Hospice Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Elaine was born Feb. 24, 1945, in Waterbury, daughter of the late Stanley and Amelia (Krayeski) Levandowski, and had lived her entire life in Naugatuck. She met and married the love of her life, “Johnny” Andrzywski, and they were married 52 years before his passing. Elaine was completely devoted to her family. This was her true joy, to be with them for every event and holiday. Her granddaughter, Elana, was the sunshine of her life. She carried about 100 photos of her at all times.

She worked in all types of fields, always enjoying being around people. Elaine always had a funny story to share at family gatherings and she loved to make people laugh. She always found the perfect gift for family and friends. Elaine had the best broccoli casserole that only she could prepare to perfection. Elaine loved Sunday drives to Milford Beach, where she would pick out the beautiful homes by the water that she was going to buy if she won the lotto. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Waterbury, where she attended Mass regularly with John; her husband of 52 years.

Elaine is survived by her son, Michael Andrzywski; her daughter, Pamela Perugini and son-in-law, Michael “Perg” Perugini; her granddaughter, Elana Perugini and fiancé, Brian Szarek; her brother, Robert Lance and sister-in-law, Lynn; her sister-in-law, Catherine Caraballo and husband, Lloyd Hunter; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband John, Elaine was predeceased by her brother, John Levandowski.

Special thanks to the nurses at VITAS Hospice for the exceptional compassion and guidance they provided to Elaine and her family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, May 6, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 309 South Main St., Waterbury. Everyone attending is kindly asked to meet directly at church and facial coverings and social distancing will be required. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. There are no calling hours, and arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck.
