Obituary: Dorothy Ann (Bucko) Morrissey

NAUGATUCK — Mrs. Dorothy Ann (Bucko) Morrissey, 72, of Naugatuck, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, at her home after a long illness. She was the wife for 52 years of William J. Morrissey Jr.

Mrs. Morrissey was born in Bridgeport on Oct. 6, 1939 a daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Cogan) Bucko. She was retired as a L.P.N. having most recently worked at the Glendale Center in Naugatuck and previously for the V.N.A. Hospice of Waterbury. She was a communicant of St. Vincent Ferrer Church in Naugatuck. Dorothy was a truly loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed reading but most of all enjoyed spending time with her loving family and many friends.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Morrissey is survived by three daughters, Dorothy Hoff and her husband Bill of Naugatuck, Wendy Carangelo and her husband Mike of Vestal, N.Y. and Barbara Fiorillo and her husband Anthony of Northford; one son, William J. Morrissey and his wife Darice of Naugatuck; one sister, Dr. Barbara Rocco of Charlotte, N.C. and her former husband Dr. Matthew Rocco of Allendale, N.J.; one brother, Joseph Bucko and his wife Barbara of New Britain, 13 grandchildren, one great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. She will also be dearly missed by her beloved Schnauzers Elliott and Sparky.

Private funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck is in charge of arrangements.
