David T. Wartko

PROSPECT — David T. Wartko, 59, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the loving husband of Jeanine (Angers) Wartko.

Mr. Wartko was born on July 10, 1952 in Bridgeport a son of the late Thomas Wartko and Dorothy (Nemergut) Wartko. He was a retired contractor and owner/operator of Cornerstone Remodeling. He attended St. Anthony’s Church, and was a member of Region 16 Board of Education, WPCA in Prospect and was on the Republican Town Committee. He was an avid fisherman and was a proud member of the NRA and loved his country. He spent many years as a Revolutionary War Reenactor. Although David grew up in Shelton he quickly fell in love with Prospect and the warm people who live there, this prompted him to run for office.

Besides his mother and wife he is also survived by his brother, Kenneth Wartko and his wife Gayle of Doylestown, PA, his nephew, Evan Wartko and niece, Danielle Wartko.

The funeral will be held on Friday, Jan. 13, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, 4 Union City Rd, Prospect. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Rd, Route 69, Prospect on Thursday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
