SOUTHBURY — David Arthur Goss, 71, husband of Brenda (Ford) Goss, died peacefully on Aug. 23, 2020, at his home surrounded by loving family and beloved companion, Missy.
Dave was born on May 12, 1949, in Nanticoke, Pa., a son of the late John and Rita (Mullen) Goss, and was raised in Naugatuck. Dave was a retired union carpenter, and he loved to fish, hunt, camp, play golf, ride his motorcycle and spend time with his family. Dave was a proud U.S. Air Force Vietnam veteran.
In addition to his wife of 30 years, Brenda, Dave leaves his son, David Goss Jr. and Amy Harper; his daughter and son-in-law, Sara and William Kovack; his brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Debbie Goss and James and Linda Goss; his sister-in-law, Dawn Goss; his grandchildren, Brendon, Lauren and Sean Goss; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his beloved dog and constant companion, Missy.
Walk-thru calling hours will be Saturday, Aug. 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck. Military honors will be accorded following calling hours. Everyone attending is required to wear a facial covering and to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Members of the Naugatuck Veterans Council will assemble Saturday at 6:45 p.m.
