NAUGATUCK — Claire Joy Kazanjian, daughter of the late Dr. George and Juliette (Roubian) Kazanjian, died at the age of 62 at Waterbury Hospital on Saturday, Jan. 4 2013 after a long illness.

A lifelong resident of Naugatuck and a member of the Congregational Church, where she was active in many activities. Claire was educated in the Naugatuck school system and a graduate of Naugatuck High School Class of 1968 and Fisher College in Boston. Over the years she worked for the Naugatuck Youth Services Committee, at Post College, and in the offices of Sylvester J. Ryan, MD.

Claire is survived by her two sisters, Susan Kazanjian Minichino, of East Haven and Leslie Kazanjian of New York City and her aunt, Grace Kazanjian, of Naugatuck.

Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Congregational Church of Naugatuck, 9 Division St., with the Rev. Fredd Ward officiating. Interment will follow in Grove Cemetery, Naugatuck. There are no calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St., is assisting the family throughout the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Congregational Church of Naugatuck, 9 Division St.
