Naugatuck – Mr. Charles A. Verceski, age 96, formerly of 200 North Hoadley St., died Thursday Feb. 3, at the Beacon Brook Health Care Center in Naugatuck. He was the husband of Mattie (Taylor) Verceski.
Mr. Verceski was born in Naugatuck on Jan. 15, 1915. He was retired from the Uniroyal Inc. Footwear Division where he worked for many years. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time at his home in Vermont. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Besides his wife, Mr. Verceski is survived by three daughters: Joan Ciasullo of Waterbury, Carol Butkevich of Winsted and Sue Schmelcke of Naugatuck, one step brother: Joseph Adamaitis of Beacon Falls, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Verceski’s family would like to thank the staff of the Beacon Brook Health Care Center and the hospice aide for the wonderful care that they provided.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday Feb. 6, at 3 p.m. at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
