NAUGATUCK — Bertil J. Frennesson, 86, of Naugatuck passed away at VITAS Hospice of St. Mary’s Hospital on Wednesday evening, Oct. 19, after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Jean (Honan) Frennersson.
Bert was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on June 9, 1925, the son of the late Ivar and Maria (Njord) Frennesson. After serving in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946, he entered
Columbia University and graduated with a degree in chemical engineering. He came to
Naugatuck in 1950 to work at Uniroyal Chemical Company where he remained until his
retirement in 1990. At the time of his retirement, he was a senior engineering associate.
Besides his wife of 57 years, he leaves his children; a son, David B. Frennesson and his wife Suzanne of Naugatuck; a daughter, Susan Frennesson and her husband Trafton L. Foster of Tequesta, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Aria A. Frennesson and Robert J. Frennesson both of Naugatuck.
He was predeceased by his brother Ronald Frennesson
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 22, at 11 a.m. at the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 14 Salem St., Naugatuck. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck is in charge of the arrangements.
