CHESHIRE — Mrs. Aurelija R. (Velicka) Berry, 72, of Cheshire, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday October 29, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Raymond F. Berry.
Aura was born in Kaunas, Lithuania on April 22, 1941 a daughter of the late Joseph and Natalija (Paulaviciute) Velicka. She was the proud owner of Aura’s Plus Size Consignment Shop in Prospect. When she was not working she enjoyed spending time with her family as well as, painting, gardening and most of all, sharing her faith with others.
Aura is survived by two loving daughters, Michele Meyhoefer and her husband Michael Meyhoefer of Brookfield, and Regina Blanchard and her husband David Blanchard of Cheshire; four sons, who adored her, Frederick J. Miller and his former wife Toni Miller both of Waterbury, Richard J. “Rick” Martin and his wife Lynn P. Martin of Waterbury, Joseph R. Martin and his wife Cheryl L. Martin of Naugatuck and Vance D. Martin and his wife Lisa Martin of Waterbury; two brothers, Alvydas “Al” Velicka and his wife Diana “Dana” Velicka of Watertown and Victor Velicka and his wife Linda Velicka of Texas; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a bother, Ed Velicka.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 4, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Living Faith Christian Church, 69 Prospect Road, Waterbury. Family and friends are asked to please meet directly at the church. Private burial will be in Lithuanian Cemetery in Waterbury. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect.
